When Odisha Tourism envisioned Eco Retreat Sonapur as one of India’s most exciting glamping destinations, the challenge extended far beyond creating luxury tents on a pristine beach. The destination needed a strong visual identity that would transform a temporary hospitality setup into a memorable tourism experience. Cornerstone Digital was entrusted with the responsibility of developing and implementing a comprehensive environmental branding and destination graphics system for Eco Retreat Odisha at Pati Sonapur.
Located on the untouched coastline of Pati Sonapur, this project required a design language that celebrated the spirit of the beach while creating a vibrant, Instagram-worthy destination capable of attracting tourists from across India. Through a carefully curated blend of environmental graphic design, large-format branding, signage systems, façade treatments, promotional displays, and experiential design elements, we helped create a destination that visitors would remember long after their stay.
Project Overview
Eco Retreat Odisha is one of the state’s flagship tourism initiatives, offering luxury glamping experiences at some of Odisha’s most beautiful natural locations.
For the Pati Sonapur edition, the objective was to create a cohesive visual identity that seamlessly integrated with the beachfront environment while enhancing visitor engagement at every touchpoint.
The project demanded a design approach that would work equally well during the day and at night while maintaining consistency across hundreds of square feet of branding applications.
The Design Challenge
Unlike conventional hospitality branding projects, Eco Retreat Pati Sonapur presented a unique set of challenges. The site was temporary in nature yet needed to feel premium and permanent. The branding had to withstand harsh coastal conditions, complement the natural beauty of the beach, and create a distinctive visual identity that aligned with the larger Eco Retreat Odisha brand.
The challenge was to develop graphics that would:

Creating a Unique Visual Language
Inspired by the carefree spirit of beach vacations, our design team developed a vibrant visual language featuring coastal elements, beach accessories, surfboards, feathers, tropical motifs, ocean-inspired textures, and colorful experiential graphics.
The design system used soft beach tones combined with bright accent colors to create a cheerful and welcoming atmosphere. Every graphic was carefully planned to evoke relaxation, adventure, and the joy of a beachside getaway.
The result was a cohesive visual identity that could be adapted across structures of varying sizes without losing consistency.
Grand Entry Experience
One of the most impactful elements of the project was the destination entry experience. The illuminated entrance gateway immediately established the identity of Eco Retreat Pati Sonapur while creating a strong first impression for arriving guests.
The branded gateway, combined with the illuminated experiential archway leading into the property, transformed a simple access route into an immersive arrival experience. These elements not only improved navigation but also became popular photo points for visitors.
The use of lighting, large-scale graphics, and branded architectural elements helped create a memorable entrance sequence that reinforced the destination’s premium positioning.
Conference Hall & Event Space Branding
The conference and event facilities required a sophisticated branding approach that balanced functionality with aesthetics.
Large-format façade graphics were designed to transform temporary structures into visually appealing destination landmarks. The graphics incorporated Eco Retreat branding along with coastal-themed illustrations that maintained visual continuity across the property.
During evening events, the illuminated facades created a dramatic atmosphere, enhancing the overall guest experience and contributing significantly to the destination’s visual appeal.
These branded structures became important visual anchors within the property and helped create a cohesive tourism environment.
Reception & Welcome Area Design
The reception area serves as the first physical interaction between visitors and the destination. Our design strategy focused on creating a warm, welcoming, and highly recognizable arrival experience.
From welcome graphics and branded walls to decorative installations and directional communication, every element was designed to strengthen the visitor’s connection with the destination.
The reception environment reflected the relaxed beachside character of Pati Sonapur while maintaining the premium standards expected from a flagship tourism project.
Restaurant Branding & Dining Experience
Dining is a key component of every hospitality experience. For the restaurant areas, we developed a unique branding system that extended the destination’s visual language into the dining environment.
Custom wall graphics, façade branding, decorative elements, and themed environmental graphics helped transform dining spaces into immersive hospitality experiences.
Rather than treating the restaurant as a standalone facility, it was designed as an extension of the Eco Retreat journey, ensuring consistency across all visitor touchpoints.
Environmental Graphics & Visitor Engagement
